Healthcare Training

MIST work with existing healthcare professionals providing language and communication skills training.

Healthcare workers come into regular contact with women and their partners experiencing pregnancy loss, infertility and childlessness.

Despite this, several studies reveal healthcare staff feel unprepared to fully support these patients, including midwives who receive minimal guidance within their formal training and patients often disclose insensitive reactions from healthcare experiences. Due to this, MIST provide guidance for those working in healthcare to better support patients experiencing these issues.

Our training is particularly suitable for:

  • Midwives

  • Nurses

  • Paramedics

  • Doctors

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Sonographers

  • Health Visitors

After training, healthcare professionals will be able to recognise:

  • The non-visible impact of these reproductive issues, including mental health illness.

  • The importance of effective and sensitive communication.

  • How to effectively communicate and support affected patients through language skills training (dos and don'ts).

All sessions enable discursive, pragmatic support.
